Book Launch for “Autumn in the Kingsbrae Garden”

On September 25, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Alphabet bookstore in Rimouski, there will be a book launch for my book Autumn in the Kingsbrae Garden.

Inspired by mono no aware—a Japanese spiritual concept that evokes both the sadness one feels in the face of life’s transience and the privilege of witnessing it—Marcel Jomphe had a profound experience during an artist residency in Saint Andrews, New Brunswick.

In Autumn at Kingsbrae Garden, he shares this experience by reflecting on his artistic practice, the garden, his walks through the town, and the aging of the leaves.

Throughout the pages, the author’s drawings and photographs aptly capture the striking beauty of autumn.
